A decision of Justice Logan of the Federal Court highlights some of the issues that are relevant in challenging a decision by the Commissioner of Taxation to issue an order which prohibits a taxpayer from leaving Australia (Pattenden v Commissioner of Taxation [2008] FCA 1590).
