In response to the global financial crisis, this paper analyses some of the measures currently being implemented by employers as a means of reducing costs. It covers both the employee relations and tax issues. Topics covered include:
- business restructures
- employee redundancies
- cutting of employment terms and conditions

Phil Willox
Philip is a Partner of the National Employee Relations team at Freehills and assists employers with their day to day human resource, industrial relations and safety issues. He seeks to prevent problems arising through practical, commercial advice. In the event of disputes, Philip has significant experience in managing their resolution, including in various Courts and Industrial Tribunals. Philip has been involved in employee relations planning for construction projects and major workforce and company restructures.
