Photo of author, Barry Hamilton Barry is a Principal of BK Hamilton & Associates. Barry is a registered liquidator, official liquidator of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and Federal Court of Australia and a trustee in bankruptcy. Barry is a graduate from the University of Tasmania, a Chartered Accountant and an associate member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia. Barry commenced practice in December 2000 as a sole practitioner and has steadily built the practice into one of the most recognised firms for insolvency management. Located in Hobart, Barry accepts administrations mainly in Tasmania but is often sourced by mainland businesses for formal workouts. Barry has been involved in some of the state’s largest external administrations but mostly deals with family businesses. As part of this process Barry is involved in many aspects of taxation administration in insolvency and this often involves interaction with accounting firms. - Current at 06 December 2013
