Russell is a Partner at MacDonnells Lawyers in Cairns. Russell has been practising law since 1982. He joined MacDonnells
Solicitors in 1989, was made a Partner in 1990, and held the position of the firm’s Chairman of Partners from 2000 until the end of
2007. Russell provides advice to businesses, local authorities, statutory bodies and government owned corporations in the areas of
tax, commercial and company law, including the revenue consequences of their business transactions. This work has included advice
on appropriate structuring for businesses, formation of various legal entities, providing government owned corporations and local
government with a wide range of advice concerning complex legal and corporate advice, revenue advice in the areas of income tax,
stamp duty and land tax, and providing a full range of services to those involved in commerce and the property development industry.
