Matt is the current Director of Taxation for the Asia Pacific operations for Newmont Mining Corporation, a US listed gold mining group. Prior to joining Newmont in April 2019, Matt was an International Tax Partner at KPMG in Perth for 9 years, specialising in providing international tax and transfer pricing advice to multinational groups in a range of industries including Energy & Natural resources, the mining and engineering services sector and energy infrastructure groups. Matt also specialized in advising not-for-profit organisations on a range of taxation matters. Matt is originally from the UK and first came to Australia in 2001, having worked at KPMG and Arthur Andersen for 7 years. Since that time he has been a regular speaker at Tax Institute’s events in WA and is a past Chair of WA State Council. He also guest lectures at Curtin University on International tax. - Current at 20 January 2020
