Jinny is a Partner at Herbert Smith Freehills, specialising in stamp duty Australia-wide. She has over 20 years’ experience advising on the duty implications of commercial transactions, including real estate acquisition and development, M&A, IPOs/demergers, and restructures. Jinny’s work involves structuring and implementing transactions, as well as helping clients with compliance and audit issues. Mark Peters ATI
Mark is a Solicitor in the National State Taxes practice at Herbert Smith Freehills. He advises on the stamp duty implications of a broad range of commercial transactions and provides specialist resettlement and trust law advice to trustees. He also assists clients to implement transactions and attend to compliance with duty lodgement obligations. Mark has experience working with a range of clients on a wide variety of matters and has experience dealing with state taxes matters in all Australian States and Territories. Mark is a member of The Tax Institute’s NSW State Taxes Committee and is an active contributor on state taxes law reform and the development of revenue practice. Mark publishes regularly on stamp duty and trust law issues and presents on the same. Mark graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours and University Medal) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) (conferred with Distinction). Before joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Mark was tipstaff to a Judge of the New South Wales Court of Appeal and a casual academic at the University of Newcastle.
