Author profiles

Thomas Rengers
Tom joined the ATO in 1998. He has worked in the Tax Counsel Network and also in various technical roles in a number of compliance and assurance areas in the ATO. He is currently a case leader in the Private Groups and High Wealth Individuals business line. Tom worked in publishing before joining the ATO as a tax writer contributing to the Australian Tax Practice Commentary and Weekly Tax Bulletin published by Thomson Reuters. He has qualifications in accounting and law and started his tax career with a global accounting firm. Tom assists advice and engagement teams in a number of Queensland sites, providing technical expertise and leadership, and also nationally for specific projects and risk areas. He has national technical responsibilities for tax concessions, with a current focus on the R&D Tax Incentive. - Current at 13 August 2018
